Here are the facts. Decide for yourself.

Federer is 25, Woods is 30.

Federer has 9 majors, Woods has 12.

Federer has 45 titles, Woods has 54.

Although Woods is dominating his game, Federer is way ahead of him in every aspect. Just consider the following for starters:

Woods has at least till age 40 to surpass Jack Nickalus’s record of 18 majors compared to Federer who has up-till age 28 to surpass Pete Sampras’s 14. Golfers play competitive golf late into their forties. Vijay Singh is 43 and still winning, whereas it is extremely difficult to win a tennis major after age 28 based on past history. So Federer is compressing far more quality game in much shorter span.

Tiger has been a professional golfer for 10 years with 12 majors and 54 titles. Federer became a professional 7 years ago with 9 majors and 45 titles. That works out to 1.2 majors and 5.4 titles per year for Woods and 1.4 and 6.4 for Federer.

Woods might have won all four majors, but like Roger pointed out they were all on grass, whereas Roger has to play on different surfaces. One also cannot ignore the physicality involved in the two sports. Woods has so much less likelyhood of an injury compared to Roger.

    Is golf even a sport?

TP, I saw Dee’s question on the questions section where she asks about the day you started this planet. Well, I can’t find any entries previous to this one, so can we consider 2006/11/20 as the day you started this planet? I won’t be here on 11/20. In fact, I won’t be able to blog for a few weeks, but I do hope you prepare something special for that day.

If you were not planning anything special, well then at least please put my message (and those from other people who suggested to celebrate your anniversary) on the main board together with a few photos of Julian Moore. And if I’m wrong about the true date you started this, well then at least let us wish a very merry unbirthday to you.

Let us say thank you for all the good things we can take from your site. I for one never miss any of the pre-match or post-match analyses; I do learn from them. And if for some reason we disagree with something you wrote, we are free to say so.

The list of nice features is endless: large photos, videos, contests, polls, all the necessary links related to the tournament that is being played, etc.
However, what I appreciate the most is the fact that you, TP, have found your way to every corner of this world where there is a tennis fan with a computer and some knowledge in English. You have created a gate to the world for us. As a relatively new tennis fan, I have learned many things by reading the comments of knowledgeable fans that visit this site. And if we want to share a story, a poem, or an idea with other tennis fans over the world, we don’t have to work hard to gather them; you have already done that for us. We just need to type and then click “Submit Comment.”

Last, but not least, I wonder how many years TP and some other visitors have added to my life by making me laugh out loud so often.

Have a very merry unbirthday TP!
