Thank you TP!
Did they really leave Marat off the Russian team? Whyyyy?
Don’t they need an alternate? The Spanish team has Almagro as an alternate! PMac dropped Blake altogether to replace him with Querrey instead of taking him along as an alternate!
Why does no one seem to be thinking?!?

Querrey in for Blake. Fish in for Bob. Roddick’s complaining about his ankle. U.S.A.’s got this in the bag.

M, my understanding is that McEnroe said it was James’ decision to be left off the team for now:
“James is just physically and mentally exhausted after a gruelling summer,” read a McEnroe statement. “He said he needed a break and we respect that.”

Why doesn’t McEnroe & the U.S. team just wise up and get some tough American clay court specialists in there for the match against Spain…
…Oh yeah, I forgot, the U.S. DOES NOT HAVE any tough clay court players within its borders! In comparison, the state of Texas is wider than the whole country of Spain—can’t we find somebody who knows how to play on the muddy red stuff? We’re doomed!!!

US Open quarterfinalist Mardy Fish, who was a singles starter when the Americans lost to Spain the 2004 Davis Cup final staged in Seville, has been named to the squad as Bob Bryan’s replacement. Fish owns a 5-5 career Davis Cup record, including a 1-1 mark in doubles. He last played Davis Cup doubles in the 2003 first-round, partnering James Blake in a 6-3, 6-4, 6-7(4), 4-6, 4-6 loss to Croatia’s Ivan Ljubicic and Goran Ivanisevic.
It is another item on a busy monthly schedule for Fish, who is scheduled to marry fiancee Stacey Gardner, an attorney and one of the briefcase models on “Deal or No Deal”, on September 28.

Wow, Sam played quite well. New hope for USA. Nadal was not playing that well, was he? And he was playing on clay courts.Hmmmmmm!

So Serbia, Switzerland, and Spain in the World Group now.
Australia out of the World Group.
And the final????
Can’t wait to hear TP’s wrap-ups.

Polito brought his country into the final as a 20th birthday present for himself, I guess.

“Argentina will likely select a fast hard court for the final.”
Well, someone’s thinking.

Hi Gracie, what do you think of this? Is this good for Federer?or would it be too much?
