lol TP, it isn’t really a game show as such, it’s more of an irreverent micky take. The Scottish guy with the broad accent is well into his footie. The guy in the blue is straightforward London accent. The bald headed guy is doing London east end, I don’t know who he is, but I’m sure he doesn’t speak like that all the time. It’s funny, I once knew someone, very posh middle class Brit, wasn’t even a Londoner, but would throw in the London cockney or a bit south London street talk from time to time, she used to call men blokes, or money dosh, it was an attempt to be trendy and phoney baloney coming from her.

lol! This is great stuff. Actually that Scottsman’s brogue was relatively mild compared to what’s out there.

This is why my husband and I enjoy watching television in the UK just as much as sight-seeing when we get lucky enough to go over there. And I’ll say one thing for the Brits, they aren’t afraid to have incredibly unattractive guests on their game shows. Watching the gameshow Countdown (is that still airing Jen??), they had guests missing front teeth.

    Yes they are! LOL!

    Hi Bettyjane,
Countdown’s still going, it’s future is in the balance, Carol Vorderman is leaving. It’s broadcast mid afternoon, when most of us are working.

Have you watched any Keeping up Appearances – you can get them on Utube, very funny.

    Jenny,

We get Keeping Up Appearances here on our local PBS channel in New York. It’s been going strong for quite a few years now. My girlfriend’s husband can’t bear watching it because apparently it’s filmed in his home town of Leamington Spa and it makes him homesick.

Wow—end of an era if Countdown is no more. I recall Carol as being a clever as well as pretty cohost. Great at math. That show requires too much intelligence to be transported across the Atlantic

This is priceless, I watched it 3 times. British humour is just the best, so subtle and funny. Even the brit version of the “weakest link” is hilarious with that Anne character. Love it.
