Wow, some of you here really amaze me. What is this new trend on this site to call Fed fans crazy?? I don’t get it, it’s actually pretty arrogant. It’s not even interesting to read some comments anymore, it’s starting to look more like a popularity contest than a site for tennis fans.
I’m with Jill, hard to tell what’s gonna happen next season but I think Fed will take 1 GS, Nadal 1 GS (FO) and the other two, probably no one we’d expect to win. Somehow, I don’t see Murray doing it this season but I could be wrong.

AO- Djokovic again- he starts strong then dies out half way through the season
FO- Nadal or some underdog who manages the insane toppling of Rafa-
Wimbledon- Fed takes it back
US Open- Fed again, but it’s a close and hard fought battle with Murray
End of the year- Nadal again
I don’t think Murray has it in him to win a Slam yet…

Despite the issues of his knee, I think Rafa will recover well and bounce back in a big way. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep his No. 1 ranking. When his No. 2 ranking was threatened, what did he do???? He stepped his game and held off Djokovic. That’s what he did. No. 1 means a lot to Rafa, so even if it means making some necessary changes to his game and his health, he’ll do it, so his No. 1 ranking stays in tact.
I think Fed will have a good year, but I think the pressure of matching Sampras will get to him. If he does tie Sampras, it could very well be at Wimbledon.

This will surely be a difficult year to predict going on 2008 results and the emergence and rise of a few of the new guns.So:
Australian Open: Murray (darkhorse Gulbis)
French Open: Gulbis (obviously Nadal if fit will be a strong candidate and Del Potro)
Wimbledon: Murray (will triumph depending on draw over Nadal or Federer in the final)
US Open: Djokovic (will defeat again depending on draw Murray in final)
No. 1 end of end of year: Murray.
I am happy for any one to win, the depth is now so good and it is no longer a 2 way race, so am predicting this year to be the breakthrough year for Murray and Gulbis and a re-emergence of Djokovic towards the end of the year and passing of the baton from Federer to these guys. I just feel Nadal’s awesome success last year took too much out of him and it will be so hard to repeat, I so hope he can though … I would love for him to win 2 to 3 of the majors and he deserves to and be the number 1 player for a second year …. but he tortured his body I think last year and the hill he climbed to get to the top will be hard to hold on to …. but go Raffa … prove me wrong on those predictions.

lol! You know in spite of the knot in my stomach from last night, Federer won the two majors I most wanted him to win. Last year the U.S. open was infinitely more important for him. (No sour grapes meant at all to Delpo, who is a major sweetie!)
