If you are Fabrice Santoro, shouldn’t you be smarter selecting the tournaments now?

Posted by tennisplanet on December 23, 2008

Of all the freaking year-starting events, he has chosen Doha with a strong likelihood of running into the big dogs in the first freaking round. Is that what you are really looking for at this stage in your career?

The only reason(s) you would sanely think of doing that is to create some waves by either pulling off an upset or ruffling some feathers while going down. Hasn’t the sun set years ago on either one of those? Didn’t you narrowly escape getting killed by two of Roddick’s serves this year?

Or are you so attention starved that getting humiliated eclipses the sunlight you are hoping to get standing across from the giants of the game in the opening freaking round? What’s the freaking logic?

If you really are genuinely interested in playing the sport at this level, wouldn’t it be smarter to select lower tier events to feed your urge, while still giving yourself a shot at progressing through the draw?

It’s all about the money, isn’t it? It always is, specially now when the door is already shut and all you can hope is to slip in the currency through the crevices.

Doha ‘no brainer’ prediction.

Posted by tennisplanet on December 23, 2008

Murray is the man. Either he is going to win it or will decide who will.

Landing with Nadal boosts his chances of winning it. Federer should win it if Murray lands with him.

Roddick is the rolling stone no one really cares about other than being a minor annoyance to get through in the semis.
