I have to say—-I sort of regret all those years I rooted against Sampras He’s been so super gracious about all this. I’m ashamed of myself. (and he and his wife really had a super rapport in the box yesterday—like they actually enjoy being together!)

DSG–You’re so sweet. And you’re right—I couldn’t help myself. I’m an American who has never rooted for an American player (unless it was Agassi playing against Sampras.) I actually stopped rooting for Martina after she defected.
lol, yes that’s our English Setter Henry. I’ve been reading and sometimes posting to this blog for at least a few years now, and Henry has become quite an ice-breaker. Sergeant and Schop showed me how to create an avatar. Henry instinctively picks up on my stress levels during these Federer matches.

Henry is so handsome and kind-looking!! I love him. I tried to do the atavar but I am too stupid and slow to be able to follow instructions, Besides I didn’t know if my avatar would be on my “permanent record” (as I used to threaten the children).
I WOULD have rooted for an American player if I had found one that I was crazy about but I’m afraid Edberg set the bar and so far only Federer and Nadal have risen to it. I couldn’t abide Agassi (although now that he is doing such wonderful things with his Foundation, I wish him well. Ditto Sampras—don’t know why. Wemight have the same reasons…
