Do I really have to do this?
When I started this stupid site in 2006 (most of you were not even born then – some mentally, some physically), it was a just a random collection of thoughts, forced attempts at being funny, not-very-congenial compilation of posts, photos with pathetic captions, sorry tries to look sharp, warped excuses to save face after committing horrendous blunders etc etc.
Wait a minute. Nothing has changed. I have been running around for so long for freaking nothing? But I am a basement lunatic, what’s your freaking excuse for wasting your freaking life here?
And just for the record and to clear up any misconceptions, I have not LOL’d at ANY of your comments and posts EVER. Sometimes maybe a mercy smile. That’s it. And I have also learnt nothing from any of your knowledge of the sport. Just a little bit here and there. Stuff I was about to get to know anyway.
So you all are doing a barely acceptable job, but it is far slightly better than I expected. So you can be happy about that.
But I have to give you this one – very reluctantly: You have managed to build a great OK environment all by yourself without any of my expert interference or policing. Usually, I have heard a site has many moderators to ensure smooth day-to-day operation.
All you toddlers have been able to self manage and still produce a near perfect fair setting – by my standards.
It’s a privilege nice to have all of you aboard.

My excuse for wasting my life here is that this site brings so much joy to my day and is such a welcome break from writing out the many assignments and assessments that I have piled up on my desk.
Since I discovered my love for tennis, this site has only strenghtened that feeling.
And it’s all down to you TP!

I’m actually a senior this year, yay!! AP classes are literally from hell…I’m gonna need all the luck I can get
Of course there is stuff like this site and Facebook to get my mind off of my studies. I can always watch tennis or play tennis when I’m bored; Federer and Nadal have made my school life so much easier 
I can’t wait until the end of this year when all of my college and scholarship applications will finally be done! Thanks for the acknowledgment, and good luck to your son! I bet he hates AP classes as much as I do

Advanced Placement classes; they are basically college classes in high school, and there is a year-end exam in each AP class that, if you do well, you can get college credit for. Did I mention that I’m running on 1 hour and 20 minutes of sleep today?

Maybe for some reason they just don’t attempt to post any longer, or they may have moved on, RafaFan. There was only one former poster who was really controversial, she upset a lot of people, but that was way back, TP may well have blocked her. Having said that, I miss some of the former posters too.

This site is the second one I visit after reading my mail. I’ve been on other forums but none of them comes close to this one. Also, the people here are really great and I also miss some of the “oldies” like Schop, DSG and the notorious MIKE_. But the regulars like Jenny, Pommes, Jennifur, Banti, Dee, Claire, Bettyjane, Bento, Sir, and many others, you guys are the best and you TP, you’re probably the sweetest goat-loving freak I have (n)ever met.

Also Joao and Tennis Freak were here regularly not so long ago. I believe Joao runs his own music blog and Tennis Freak now writes for bleacher report.
For newbies, Tennis Freak was the one who suggested to remove the moderation mode on TP’s site.

Thanks dear Sol and dear Jenny, that’s just what I feel. – We just know their aka names and we will never know them personally, but the memories will be alive for quite a while. Now they are gone. It’s like in the movies where actors are able to put ourselves in an other world! – And what Ricke said: ‘I love the fact that we are all different countries, sexes, shapes, sizes, religions and ages all come together with our love for tennis’. at the beginning of the year we all voted our learned opinions about who would win the slams and who would end the year as No 1. Somehow, I think no one got all 5 correct.

Thanks for a wonderful site. I found this a few months ago by accident while surfing a topic about Wimbledon 2008. TP’s sense of humour caught my attention although my initial reaction about his comments was disbelief and I thought “is he/she for real?” Since then I’m addicted. I love this site I visit this first thing after checking my email. Thanks TP, you’re hilarious. Keep it up.
