Which match from London are you most likely to be glued to your set for – other than the obvious one?

Too true, Jennifur. Remember my boy David Ferrer in 2007? Most folk thought he was the weakest link at the time, but he was the only player who won every match, even Roger didn’t manage that. He took out Rafa, Djoko, Roddick, Gasquet, only to be taken out by Roger in the final. Wasn’t Nalby called in as an alternate in 2005 and won the whole thing?

yep nalby won in the final vs fed. i remember how hot ferrer was on hardcourts in 07/08. he kind of went off this yr tho almost beat fed at cincy. is he injured?

Jennifur, David’s been injured, it was tendinitis which has settled. He’s had tendinitis problems since Wimby and had to retire in Montreal against Rafa. Had to withdraw from New Haven after Cincy because the dreaded T had flared up again. Now recovering from a hamstring injury at Valencia. Forced to withdraw from Paris, but Costa has chosen him to be part of the DC final team, he’s very consistent on clay in DC, a bit like Nalby, so it’s looking good.

thats good 2 hear jenny. ferrers retrieving skills r fun to watch. so fast …

You’re welcome and thanks, Jennifur. He has a big gutsy heart, but needs those little leggies to be fit to execute his retrieving/returns skills to max, confidence too.

Its mouthwatering with top8 players. All matches should be great to watch!
I heard rumours that Roddick is going to pullout and the Sod would get his spot?

just hope we get a chance to watch it. It won’t be on TV so hope theres a live stream that will do it. Do you have tickets Jenny? I was wondering about the seniors event at the Royal Albert but couldn’t afford the airfare

    • Jenny said

Sky are definately showing it, Stella. I have to miss being there in person, it’s true my work hours are flexible, but my husband has to work and travel, I can’t leave our dog for long hours at a time. LOL I doubt the O2 would let him in, although he is impeccably behaved, and we can’t leave our back door open for him to be comfortable. I’ll enjoy watching it on the biggish TV though, and interacting with you guys here. Sorry TV is letting you down.

You know, the seniors never really appealed to me.

we can’t get Sky so will hope for a stream. Of course the time difference doesn’t help either — with TV I could tape it and watch in the evening but with a stream I have to watch when its on.

Edberg is in the seniors and Rusedski and a few who are just off the tour so its not just Johhny Mac and Connors any more.

Teach your dog to fetch — could be a ball-dog.
they had some great ads a few years ago for an Indianapolis tourney where the dogs were sponsor mascots and they went to fetch the balls — -handed a ball of droulley slobber over to Todd Martin to serve. Very funny it was

LOL Stella! – a ball dog and Todd Martin, droolly slobber, sounds like a Lab and a lot of fun! My boy isn’t a natural ‘retriever’, he’d be very happy herding them up, if they ran, he’d run faster, if they didn’t comply, a quick nip on the ankle would suffice, he’d then dare them to move! I have an offbeat sense of humour and that would amuse me! He’d keep TP and his goats under control, and the inflatables would be deflated, LOL

I love Edberg, Leconte and Pioline, I respected Greg and what he gave to British tennis, but was never really a fan. Greg is sometimes a studio pundit now. Is Rios still on the tour – hardly Mr Happy is he! Who else is playing on seniors these days?

    • Jenny said

Stella, and others who might find this funny. My lad isn’t a Border, but his collie breed are used with sheep in certain areas. The guy needs glasses!

Any news on Roddick? Pity if he misses out, but if he’s not fit, there’s no point and it does give Soderling a chance. Don’t two alternates have to be on site too, so maybe Tsonga and one other?

Yeah, many good matches to come. Can’t wait and can’t choose.
