Hey I guessed right! I would love that job and would do it for free to have a cat bird seat to watch my favorite players.

I have a hard time believing it is so low. That’s really asking for trouble when it comes to ways of making a lot more money for one call.
These people travel as much as players and don’t even make what #200 in the world makes in a year? There must be more to the compensation.

Interesting. I guess it would be dependant on how many times their services are required per tournament. Are they paid per tournament or for each match in which they officiate? I’m thinking there are extra valuable perks too, free accommodation in a top class hotel? subsidised meals on site? clothing allowance? pension plan? travel allowance? All worth big money on top of a regular basic salary. I think the salary is pretty fair if it doesn’t include perks. My guess, umpires go into the job for more than just a salary. Throwing big money at them won’t necessarily make for a good or fair umpires.
