Nadal:
AO title? That’s ahead of WTF, Paris or whatever else. Why? Because it shoots up the percentage of him earning a calendar Slam next year exponentially. And that one shot catapults him past Federer once and for all for whatever title – even if he fails to win another Slam for the rest of his career. It’s even worth relinquishing the top rank to Federer if certain tournaments are passed over in pursuit of it.
Federer:
Winning a title? Duh!!!!! If he begins to look past this simple goal every tournament will produce more pain progressively.
Djokovic:
Regain No. 2 rank by defending his title successfully at both Basel AND Paris.
Murray:
Never mind.
Soderling:
Beat up someone at a bar to release the disappointment of losing to a loser at home?

TP, you really got Söderling figured out

lol I think with a little help from you, Bjornino
Bjornino said
If that is so, then I take pride in the fact that I was the one that made TP see Sod for the bar thug he is

Hi fellow Wagner freak! Seriously, Bjornino, how would you assess Robin as far as his tennis and future chances are concerned? For what it’s worth, I’m still on the fence.
Bjornino said
Hey Cosima
Did you ever go to Bayreuth, btw?
Tonight the Met is broadcasting “Boris Gudonow”, so no Wagner from NYC this weekend ^^
Good question about Sod… I don’t know to be honest. Somehow I don’t see him winning a slam. But I think he could be a stready top 5-10 in the next years barring injury.
Have a nice weekend Jenny

LOL and Hi Bjornino!
Unfortunately, I’ve never visited Bayreuth, but I’m sure we will. I vagely heard recently of plans to run a rail service from London to Germany. I haven’t sussed it all out yet, this must be an extension to the existing Eurostar services, obviously they won’t be building another tunnel! I agree with you about Sod. You have a nice weekend too

I forget which composer said this—but he was a contemporary of Wagner: “[Wagner] has brilliant moments and devastatingly boring quarter hours.”
I tend to agree

Djokovic – how can he regain #2 when he can’t earn any points if he wins Paris and Basil??? He won both tournaments last year so Djokovic can’t earn any points, only lose points.
Federer is the one who can increase his lead against Djokovic – Federer has TEN points to defend in Paris and 300 in Basil!
I think there is a good chance Federer will be #2 at year end!
Am I right?

Claire, you are right! LOL

Watch out for Murray; he has now 6125 points (Federer 7335) but he has only 990 points to defend: Valencia 500, Paris 10, WTF 400. Federer has 710 points to defend: Basel 300, Paris 10, WTF 400.
claire said
Your right Barbara. I think year-end – Federer #2, Murray #3, Djokovic #4

I think Murray ought to gun for the WTF. I mean, it’s in London, it’s on a fast & hard playing surface. He’s hitting his stride again now. No reason he shouldn’t take this title. And getting a “big” win in England (with all the pressure & hype he goes through there) may be important for his chances at bagging a future Wimbledon title.
Just my humble opinion…
