GO DEL POTRO!!!
Jenny said
As from 13th September, two super additions to the top ten, #9 Mikhail Youzhny and #10 David Ferrer. They were former top tenners who had a slump, but have clawed their way back. Well done and deserved guys
As expected Roger has dropped to #3 and Novak up to #2.
Jill said
Well done them. Jenny do you think it’s too much of a push for Ferrer to get to number 8 (sorry I haven’t looked at the numbers) so that I might get to see him at the O2 in November?
Jenny said
Not beyond the realms of possibilities, Jill! It would be nice to see him at the O2!
Jenny said
I know we can all make mistakes, but you would think the ATP would get it right!
Source ATP
13/09/2010 #10 Ferrer 3200 points
#11 Roddick 3180 points
20/09/2010 #10 Roddick 3180
#11 Ferrer 3135
Not much between them, but it’s hardly the point, especially when fans congratulate a player after seeing the official result on the 13th, and when nothing has been played [including DC] since the Open.

I have e-mailed the ATP, something doesn’t look correct as at 4.10.10 to me. Verdasco hasn’t had points deducted which he didn’t defend [150] in Thailand, he crashed first round, yet he still remains at 3330, Ferrer hasn’t had points added from Kuala Lumpur [90] with nothing to defend and he’s still stuck on 3135 for two weeks, so by my reckoning Ferrer should be #10 with 3225 points, [infact we all thought he should have been #10 last week] and Roddick is still showing at #10, he didn’t play last week and remains on his existing 3180 [lol they got that bit right].
Sol said
Wow, Jenny. I think the ATP owes you a salary for doing the work for them. Thanks for the info. Glad Ferru is back in the top 10.
Jenny said
Thnx, Sol. It comes to something when we can’t rely on official stats and some of these figures are stuck in cement, I’m pretty sure I’m right on this occasion.

Also this.

Following on from my rants and mails to the ATP, they have responded with a detailed explanation which I suppose is something in their favour, they could have ignored it. Grrgh, it seems they are correct, it’s all to do with being a top 30 player, 2009 slams, mandatories, etc., and one result cancels the other. Please don’t ask me to explain, I’m still confused and not a happy fan

Ahh! A breakthrough, all of a sudden the WTF Race has now appeared on the ATP site and David is #9! Maybe my rant did have some effect afterall?! Vamos David!

Novak Djokovic has now qualified for WTF London.
