Should Roddick change coaches right before every Slam?

Connors coming aboard sparked a very similar run he is on currently after selecting P. McEnroe. Maybe the timing of it this time has been much closer to the trigger that peaks his game.

There’s nothing else to explain the pattern clearly obvious.

Change appears to reinvigorate Roddick at least for a few months. Maybe that hyper personality has something to do with it.

Somehow the coaching change, lets him start fresh, unleashing his true potential, until he starts to become too comfortable with it. Beating Federer, Nadal and Djokovic this year is ample evidence. So is the decline since and the upswing now.

Is that only restricted to the coach? Can it work with other people too like someone from New York? How about switching states, from Austin to Florida? Sponsors? Clothes? Turn the whole freaking life upside down. Something will stick. What have you got to lose?

    Definitely not.

Conners helped because he gave Roddick confidence. McEnroe is helping because he knows how to deal with Andy and knows his game. But what about John Roddick or Dean Goldfine? They didn’t cause any sudden improvement in Roddick’s game. It’s not just a new coach that makes a difference, it’s WHICH new coach.
