Big cats are elegant, so I’ll say Venus.

You guys have had your mind taken over by Dr. Parnassus and had your senses numbed by a constant battering of high-pitched screams to even think for a second before saying that Venus = big cat.

Big cats are stealthy, quiet and do their business with silent efficiency and surgical precision. They don’t make noise. I’ve watched Venus play live. I’ve seen her train…yeah she looks like an animal, just not a cat. I think of of a large greyhound. And then she opens her mouth and emits guttural, gut-wrenching barks that instantly turns her into ‘Alien’

That said, in general, women on tour are no longer feline and graceful with cat like movements. Steffi Graf was the last of that kind. Today, women players are big noisy human hurricanes.

Hear, hear, lord Vibhudi! Graf was the last woman tennis player I enjoyed watching.

    • Ch said

I’ve read enough of your comments to know that you think women are sh*t. so excuse me if I say I still think Venus is a graceful, elegant champion. (screams or no screams)

Please don’t insult women by referring to them as excreta. You have little or no idea on how much I love women. If you must make a point then by all means, do it without making it personal. Thank you.

      • Ch said

I am a woman, and obviously, that’s not what I meant. thank you for completely missing the point.

the reason I “made it personal” was that I don’t think you have a complimentary tone towards women at all. that’s all.

    • Sir Vibhudi Aatmapudi said

Dear lady, merely forming an opinion based on your interpretation of what I post here, will hold weight only if you highlight examples and back them with some sort of rationale. Otherwise it sounds like a personal tirade. Besides, your personal assumption was not only wrong but the reference to my supposed disregard to women was appalling. Not just to me but to the other women and men who post here. I hoope you won’t use those two words in the same line ever again. And If you find anything offensive about my posts to women in general, please write to TP. I rest my case with a plea to you not to kill the fun of this thread. At the end of it, I really would want to know who among the WTA is a cat. Maybe I might learn something new. Cheers.

      • Ch said

Um. All right. I’m sorry I said anything at all. Next time I will gladly restrain myself.

wow, if only the tirades between the rest of mankind were resolved so quickly & civilly!

btw, sir vibhudi wut’syerpudi, what’s your real name?

I don’t see any clear winner here yet, and TP hasn’t announced it yet, so I’ll go with:
    Jelena Jankovic.
The long sloping snout– sorry, NOSE gives it away! 🙂

  15. Claire said

How can there be any right answer to this question???? Maybe TP will post a picture to show the unbelievable resemblance?

  16. DK said

May I venture a hypothesis – in North America, puma is referred to as “cougar”. Now think which women are also referred to as “cougar”, and go looking for current WTA players with significantly younger boyfriends/ male companions. Would not hurt if the lady in question also shows off of cat-like graceful moves on the court.

For my money, the last (or the only?) cat-like lady tennis player was Evonne Goolagong Cawley, who is obviously not a “current” WTA player.

    • Jenny said

Ah yes, Evonne Goolagong Cawley and Steffi Graf. As Sir V so rightly says, big cats are quiet and stealthy, and I will agree, Venus is not quiet! LOL Having said that, the domestic Siamese cat is very noisy, the Bengals are pretty loud too! LOL It has been said by experts of those of us who own cats, we’re really keeping miniature tigers!!

    • MARIE said

Yeah, in the US they’re mountain lions or cougars, and I did think of think of the older woman/younger man dynamic last night after I posted my initial answer. But I know next to nothing about the lovelife of the WTA players so I wouldn’t even guess.
