Some other goofy Godfather moments.

If Michael was not involved in the family business, how come he was able to dial Luca’s home number from memory.

————————————————

If that singer Tommy’s former boss was not willing to release him from that contract and then Luca was brought in to close the deal ‘with brain on the contract’ BS, how come it took one full hour to do it WITH a thousand dollar certified check. Shouldn’t it have concluded within minutes with no money changing hands?

———————————————–

If Pauly (guy who was sick and was not there to drive Don to office) was supposed to be killed for betraying Don and being responsible for the hit, why go through such an elaborate plan for a road trip and other BS, specially when Luca and Michael’s brother-in-law (far credentialed people) were terminated with next to nothing fan fare? And why did they have to lose a whole freaking car for it? Shouldn’t he at least be thrown in the bushes and an expensive car retained?

Well, this is a no brainer. I think most folks have an ability to remember things like this, regardless of how involved they are with something / someone. My memory runs deep on phone numbers, even those I have not had to use in the past 5-10 years. Don’t know why… it just is.

For the other two… well I will leave you to stew over this. I love analysing a film / films as you do TP, however I know when to stop based on a simple thought: “It is just a film. It doesn’t always have to make sense”.

Looks like you are definitely bored and with many slow days right now waiting for the USO action to start tonight.

I guess you remember that Luca wanted to say “thanks” to the Don cause’ he was invited to the wedding, I suppose Luca had been working for the family for a long time, maybe since Michael’s childhood, keep in mind that a bodyguard is a person who is very close to his clients.

About the contract, don’t you remember the long chat between Hagen and Woltz before chosing to put the horse head into the bed? The Don first offers you a deal and if you say no then he uses the force.

What do you mean by: “specially when Luca and Michael’s brother-in-law (far credentialed people) were terminated with next to nothing fan fare?”??? Luca was Killed by the Tattaglia family, I suppose you mean Tessio, and they did exactly the same thing to Carlo and Tessio, both were taken into a car. Maybe that was the trend of the time for the mob, maybe to confuse the police I don’t know, we would need to read history to see if in fact they were doing those things back in the 40’s.
