Hi Dee, here are a few tips:

    1. Work with the traffic. Depending on where you are staying, make sure you start out by 7:30 am to avoid the rush hour. Once you cross this deadline, a 30 minute car ride could take upto 90 minutes. When returning in the evening, start by 5:00 pm. 5:30 would still be ok, 6:00 pm would be pushing it. Around this time, a 30 minute car ride can take upto 160 minutes.

    2. To visit Disneyland, from the Hollywood area you would need to get on Highway 101 and then to Highway I-5 south that goes to Anaheim and San Diego. You would then exit right at Harbor Blvd where you keep right and again turn right. Disneyland is right there. The journey will take you upto 50 minutes with normal traffic, driving at and slightly above the speed limit of 65-70 mph.

There are buses that will take you, although, none that I am aware of since I travelled only by car.

When do you propose to travel?

😆 That’s the idea though. We want to know what the fuss about!

Find out what the fuss is about with a video or something…lol. Yosemite isn’t for everybody in November, for sure. If you can take cold and the chance that you’ll get snowed on the whole time you are there, it is amazing in winter. I’ve hiked around the Himalayas for a month, and I’d STILL put Yosemite Valley up there with the all time wonder spots of the world. And Glacier Point might be THE most amazing place I’ve ever been. There is one scenic turnout on the way to GP, … last time I was there (after having been there 30 times) I cried, it was so beautiful.

Thanks Sir!Great info.Thank you so much.It would be in November, around first week.I checked many online deals for Disney land and Universal studios.not sure how genuine they are.Is it safer to get them from their own sites? Please tell me about the shuttle service as well. Do we have to book in advance? or can we just get one?

Hi Dee, it is better you take the official transport provided by Disneyland. The Metro is also an option you could consider, although, it isn’t all that reliable. While I could guide you from a former ( who knows, future too!)resident’s perspective, for tourist tips, the lonely planet guides are highly recommended. You should get them in your library or most book stores.

Well, I’m pretty much allergic to big cities. My suggestion would be to take 5 North (that will get you out of that mess the fastest), to 99 North to 120 east to Yosemite. But, hey.
