He is jumping on his bed, tearing off his clothes, throwing his slippers around the hotel room, spraying water on people walking under his window, screaming at the top of his lungs nude, making crank calls, throwing punches at Nadal’s photo, dressing up in Mirka’s clothes, dancing on the dining table, throwing vegetables from the refrigerator around the room, pouring beer on himself……….
Hey, I never said I have ever done these myself.
What do you freaking expect? The guy is two matches away from becoming a GOAT. He has been here before, OK, but he hasn’t had so many things going his way, one after another here, ever. And with Hamburg in the rear view mirror, he can smell it already.
Remember the Oscar award ceremonies some years ago, when a ‘Woody Allen’ looking guy got an award for his foreign film. I think it was a french movie.
When his name was announced as the winner, he went berserk. Instead of coming to the stage to receive his prize, he started walking on the back of the chairs in front of him. I mean, at the top of the area of the seat where you rest your back.
He was ecstatic and took his time jumping around the auditorium, before finally walking up on the stage. Everyone loved it. Not everyone can carry that well. You need a certain personality to pull that off without embarrassing yourself.
When the next winner was announced, the first words out of his mouth was ‘Inside I am jumping and making a clown of myself, just like the last guy, but I don’t have the guts to show it’.
The freaking point is this: Federer does not have the personality to pull that off, publicly. But the emotions we feel, do not discriminate. So he has to let them out in private.
You think he is as composed and somber when he is alone, specially these days, as he is when giving an interview? You gotta be kidding me!!!!
He is smart and experienced enough to sense the force of momentum, due to an incredible change in circumstances, in his favor, and that’s how he is venting the joy, when by himself. You freaking wanna bet??????
Besides, I have a hidden camera in his room to prove all these allegations.
Although, at times, I do wish that Federer would lighten up a little bit and add some humor to his personality.
Specially when he was being asked repeatedly about his slump few weeks ago. Instead of being all serious and stone faced about it, he should have used some humor, to not only break the tension in the room, but to also take the pressure off of himself.
Like he could have blamed his recent losses on the tournamentt officials, who have been using the latest technology,to shorten his opponent’s court in the last three months. It’s part of a conspiracy. Or some such crap.
Hey, I never said I was good at this. Don’t mess with me. I am just suggesting. Maybe Federer can come up with better ones.
